New Work

These acrylic paintings are part of a series that translates experiences of being outdoors to abstraction. They are colorful, bold, energetic, and straddle a line between abstraction and representation. I’m inspired by walking in nature and the city, where I see an underlying geometry that holds things together, shapes, and interacting colors.

Painting has allowed me to experiment and work with subtleties of color and color mixing. An unexpected joy of the materials and processes has been the ability to do and redo. Fix and try again. Experiment, fail, repair, rebuild. That layering remains evident in the final paintings, showing imperfection and effort.
